Calls are answered during business hours. If you've found termite swarmers, rodents or bed bugs, calling gets you on the schedule fastest.
If you've found termite swarmers
- Collect a few. Sweep some swarmers or shed wings into a zip bag. The inspector needs them to tell subterranean from drywood termites, and from flying ants.
- Note where they came from. A window sill, a baseboard, a light fixture. Where they emerged points to where the colony is.
- Don't spray them. Over-the-counter spray kills the ones you see and does nothing to the colony. It can also make the inspection harder.
